1. Anti-Ragging Committee

PIMS maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward ragging and harassment to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive campus environment.

Anti-ragging Policy at PIMS

PIMS assures all students a learning environment free of ragging and will take all efforts to prevent ragging and have in place measures to address the complaints if ragging does take place. Ragging includes any act of abuse, whether physical or mental, targeting another student, whether a new student or a senior, on any ground, including caste, race, colour, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity, place of birth or residence, and economic background. An aggrieved person may report any incident of ragging by sending an email to pimsdirector@gmail.com and the committee will take immediate steps to address the concerns of that person.

Anti-ragging Committee

The committee and its members will put in place all measures to keep PIMS free of ragging. The committee will monitor the complaints on the anti-ragging email to ensure immediate action if there is a complaint. The committee may engage other student and staff volunteers at certain times to prevent ragging at PIMS.

2. Student Council Committee

Introduction

The Student Council Committee at Padmashree Institute of Management and Sciences plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant educational environment and encouraging student participation in the governance of the institution. Comprised of elected representatives from various academic disciplines, the committee serves as a bridge between the student body and the administration. Its primary objective is to voice the concerns, ideas, and aspirations of students, ensuring that their perspectives are considered in decision-making processes. Additionally, the council organizes a myriad of activities and events that promote leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility among students. By engaging with students regularly, the committee enhances campus life, promotes a sense of community, and encourages personal and professional development. Through their dedicated efforts, the Student Council Committee actively contributes to creating a holistic learning experience that prepares students for future challenges in their academic and professional journeys.

Objectives of the Student Council:

1. Student Activities: Conducting student activities such as national and international days, cultural fests, freshers day, alumni meets, etc.

2. Leadership Development: Providing opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, fostering their personal growth, and empowering them to take on responsible roles within the student council and the larger community through conducting conferences, guest lectures, etc.

3. Community Engagement: Promoting student engagement and involvement in the educational community by organizing events, activities, and initiatives that foster a sense of belonging, inclusivity, and institutional spirit.

4. Student Welfare: Addressing student concerns and working towards enhancing the overall well-being and experience of students within the institution, including academic support, health and wellness initiatives, and student support services.

5. Collaboration and Communication: Facilitating effective communication channels between the student body, administration, faculty, and other stakeholders. Encouraging collaboration and cooperation among students, clubs, societies, and other student organizations.

6. Service and Outreach: Undertaking community service projects, social initiatives, and volunteer activities that benefit the larger community and promote a sense of social responsibility among students. For instance, conducting Blood donation camps, NSS activities, etc.

7. Academic Support: Collaborating with faculty to address academic concerns, promote educational resources, and support student success in their academic pursuits, especially for slow learners.

8. Personal and Professional Development: Offering opportunities for personal and professional growth, including organizing workshops, seminars, and career development initiatives that equip students with relevant skills and knowledge.

The overall objective of a student council is to enhance the educational experience, well-being, and development of the student body while fostering a sense of community, engagement, and active citizenship within the educational institution.

Code of Conduct:

All student council members are to abide by the institutional values and keep ethics and integrity at the highest order. Members who do not follow the institutional values will have to withdraw from their posts.

Meeting Procedures:

Weekly meetings with the SC Head (Saturday) to update on the activities planned. Review Meetings with the head of the institute and IQAC Head from time to time for any amendments to the rules or processes.

Financial Management:

The treasurer is responsible for the management of financial resources allocated to the student council, including budgeting, expenditure approvals, financial reporting, and transparency.

3. Anti – Sexual harassment Committee

Padmashree Institute of Management and Sciences has committed itself to provide a safe and secure environment to all the students, teaching, and non-teaching staff. We want to ensure that the environment if free from violence, harassment, and discrimination on the bases of gender.

Every member is expected to be aware of the commitment to the right to freedom of expression and association, it strongly supports gender equality and opposes any form of gender discrimination and violence.

The Anti -sexual harassment committee has been formed to ensure that the above agenda is met. The committee’s primary functions are :

1. To facilitate a safe environment that is free of sexual harassment.
2. To promote behaviour that create an atmosphere that ensures gender equality and equal opportunities.
3. To take necessary steps to create awareness.
4. In case of breach of this moral code, a written complaint is received from the aggrieved person & necessary action is taken, preferably to settle the matter through counselling and conciliation as soon as possible.

4. STUDENT GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE

The Student Grievance Redressal Committee is also empowered to look into matters of harassment. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee. The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit.

OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of the Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute.

1. Upholding the dignity of the College by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the College through promoting cordial Student-Student relationship and Student-teacher relationship etc.
2. Encouraging the Students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized.
3. Advising Students of the College to respect the right and dignity of one another and show utmost restraint and patience whenever any occasion of rift arises.
5. Advising All the Students to refrain from inciting Students against other Students, teachers and College administration.
6. Advising all staffs to be affectionate to the Students and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason.
7. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the institution. Any violation of ragging and disciplinary rules should be urgently brought to the notice of the Director.

SCOPE:

The committee will deal with Grievances received from the students about any of the following matters:

  • Academic Matters: Related to timely issue of duplicate Mark-sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates or other examination related matters.
  • Financial Matters: Related to dues and payments for various items from library, hostels etc.
  • Other Matters: Related to certain misgivings about conditions of sanitation, preparation of food, availability of transport, victimization by teachers etc.

PROCEDURE FOR REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES BY OMBUDSMAN AND STUDENT GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEES:

(i) On receipt of an online complaint, the institution shall refer the complaint to the appropriate Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee, along with its comments within 15 days of receipt of the complaint through online portal.

(ii) The Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee, as the case may be, shall fix a date for hearing the complaint which shall be communicated to the institution and the aggrieved student.

(iii) An aggrieved student may appear either in person or authorize a representative to present the case.

(iv) The SGRC shall send its report with recommendations, if any, to the competent authority of the institution concerned and a copy thereof to the aggrieved student, preferably within a period of 15 working days from the date of receipt of the complaint.

(v) Grievances not resolved by the Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee within the time period provided in these regulations may be referred to the Ombudsman.

(vi) The Ombudsman shall, after giving reasonable opportunities of being heard to the parties concerned, on the conclusion of proceedings, pass such order, with reasons thereof, as may be deemed fit to redress the grievance and provide such relief as may be appropriate to the aggrieved student.

(vii) The institution, as well as the aggrieved student, shall be provided with copies of the order under the signature of the Ombudsman.

(viii) The institution shall comply with the recommendations of the Ombudsman.

(ix) The Ombudsman may recommend appropriate action against the complainant, where a complaint is found to be false or frivolous.

FOLLOW UP & COVERING:

  • Students Grievance Redressal Committee shall coordinate, cover and ensure redressal within the quested time (15 days).
  • Depending up on the soberness of grievance the Student Grievance Redressal Committee will follow them up regularly till their final disposal.  

EXCLUSION:

Student Grievance Redressal Committee shall not entertain following issues

1. Decisions of the Academic Council / Board of studies and other academic/administrative committees constituted by the college.
2. Decisions with regard to award of scholarships / fee concessions / awards /medals.
3. Decisions made by college under the Discipline Rules and Misconduct.
4. Decisions of the college in admissions of my courses.
5. Decisions of the competent authority on assessment and examination result.

5. Internal Complaints Committee

The Internal Compliance Committee (ICC) at Padmashree Institute of Management and Sciences was constituted in adherence to the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, and directives from the Supreme Court of India. The ICC serves as a dedicated body to address grievances related to gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment, and workplace inequities. By fostering an environment of inclusivity, equity, and safety, the ICC underscores the institution’s commitment to the welfare of its students, faculty, and staff.

Objective

  1. Awareness Creation: Promote awareness about gender sensitivity, equity, and workplace harassment laws through targeted campaigns.
  2. Support Mechanism: Provide a confidential and supportive environment for individuals to voice complaints without fear of judgment or reprisal.

6. Women Empowerment Cell

Women Empowerment Cell of our college is established to empower the girl students and women staff to get educated and understand issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for them.

In addition to discussing their issues and concerns, the cell creates awareness of rights and responsibilities including helping them in finding ways to tackle these issues. The cell regularly organizes Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, and various awareness programmes to empower women staff and students.

IIC also helps industries by giving them skilled graduates, fresh ideas, and research support.

T.K. NARAYANAPPA ENTREPRENEUR CELL

PIMS is committed to nurturing entrepreneurial spirit and fostering innovation, aimed at addressing key challenges in business and technology. The Entrepreneurship Cell, guided by the Director, is led by the Entrepreneurship Coordinator Dr. Padmashree V, operating independently on matters within its purview. It reports to the Chairman and Managing Director. All financial decisions and approvals are overseen by the  Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

2. Venture Success and Funding: The cell values successful ventures and aims to establish a track record of securing competitive funding, showcasing the quality and impact of its entrepreneurial endeavors.
3. Entrepreneurship Hub: This serves as the central office coordinating all entrepreneurial activities, including startup incubation, intellectual property management, and industry partnerships. It administers initiatives such as mentorship programs, startup accelerators, and support for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators.
4. Project Management Support: The Entrepreneurship Cell facilitates the entire lifecycle of startup projects, from ideation to market launch. This includes providing support for team formation, securing necessary resources and facilities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and investor expectations.
5. Collaboration Across Departments: The cell collaborates closely with University departments such as Administration, Finance, and the library.
